I just had to share this continually impressive podcast, REVEREND BEAT-MAN’S DUSTY RECORD CABINETT, with all of you out there in web-land. The show is from Sweden’s notorious blues-trash preacher, The Reverend Beat-Man (aka Lightning Beat-Man) of VooDoo Rhythm Records. Only 8 episodes in and I find myself upset because he isn’t putting them out fast enough for me to devour. Featuring scratchy records, dirty blues, old-skool goth, gospel, rockabilly, country and garage, I am always astounded at the variety the Rev can squish into a show and have it work cohesively. His latest effort is a Gospel Xmas(?) themed affair that I recommend fully. Also, check out the Rev’s own tunes and pick up a few!

.
As an added treat, here is one of my favorite Rev vids for you to check out.
It’s called the Jesus Christ Twist!

Hey I have the record that his logo is from! It’s an old, kind of generic one-off monster/twist lp from the 60s. I think it’s called “Franky Stein’s” something or other. Just a session band playing twist party music with scary sound effects, but it’s actually not bad! I usually throw a track on if I’m djing a halloween thing. Not surprising Beat Man would have that.
