You can listen to Laurie Anderson’s new album “Homeland” in it’s entirety by clicking on the NPR Player below. Homeland will stream in its entirety until its release date on June 22. You can pre-order your copy here.
Homeland includes appearances from: Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons on Vocals, Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden on Keyboards, Lou Reed on Guitar, John Zorn on Saxophone and vocals from Tuvan throat singers. And, through application of an effect she calls “audio drag,” Anderson even turns to her male alter ego, Fenway Bergamot.
The album stems from her past few years of touring, telling stories and performances dealing with foreign policy, freedom and cynicism, all with her unique sense of humor. For Anderson fans, it has been a while since she has approached an album like this one and I think it will hit just the right spot.
