Filmmaker Karpo Godina could not remember who had performed/written the background music to this film when recently asked about it at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. It is Rory Gallagher in the band Taste performing the tune, “On the Boards” (1970). Check it out below:

There was a retrospective of Pupilia Ferkeverk’s work last year in Ljubljana which I missed completely. It’s good to see their work online!
I must say this piece doesn’t seem particularly subversive, but I can see why it would have been treated as such in the political climate of the time. I wonder – were there similar movements in the West at the time?
