Psychedelic noise icon Kawabata Makoto is the founder of Japanese mega-group Acid Mother’s Temple, a collective with a revolving cast responsible for launching a slew of offshoot groups and side projects each idiosyncratically essential to a global experimental and avant-garde music discourse. Kawabata Makoto and varying incarnations of the Acid Mother’s Temple family have toured internationally to great success since their incarnation in the mid-90s. However, Kawabata Makoto has been a practicing artist since the late 70s. This recently surfaced 1978 track of his debut group, Ankoku Kakumei Kyodotai (Dark Revolution Collective), is self-proclaimed to be his first recording:
