JC Gonzo was raised in a small Texas border-town devoid of eclectic arts and soon became starved for others with similar tastes. He ventured out of Texas, finding influences like Lydia Lunch, Karen Finley and Diamanda Galas to spur on his own work. Now, he works alongside The End of Being founder Red Cell forming the conceptual art duo the PRODUCT DIVISION, based in the Burroughs/Gysin Third Mind effort.
He explored the ontology of sexuality and gender through film, photography, performance and installation under a self-designed degree titled “Sexual Liberation as Art” at the College of Santa Fe, writing for The New Gay, Autostraddle and for the Put Some Pussy In Your Punk Vol. 3 compilation. JC Gonzo currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
