MARK BEYER

Mark Beyer (b.1950) is a comic artist best known for his “art brut” comix style featuring bleak storylines involving death, disfigurement, depression, humiliation and existential dread. His work was prominently featured in RAW Magazine and was the only artist aside from founder Art Spiegelman (Maus) to be published in every issue. Beyer had a recurring animated short series on MTV’s Liquid Television called Thomas and Nardo, and the 1995 movie, The Doom Generation, was loosely based on his well known Amy and Jordan strips.

Mark has produced work with such luminaries as John Zorn, Naked City, The Residents, Half Japanese, Monte Cazazza, Snakefinger and many other fringe artists and musicians. He has been published in both the New York Press and New Musical Express. Although he mostly works solo, Beyer has collaborated with writer and mystic Alan Moore.
